One of the most amazing aspects of overland life is getting to know other like-minded adventurers. There are so many of you out there doing incredible things on the road, and we here at Overlander want to highlight travelers that have inspired you. As always, thank you for your nominations, and for helping to keep the inspiration in our traveling community on full boil.
See you out there on the road!
The Overlander of the Month for May is Dan Lawson from @blessed_danlaw. He and his family and their super clean Toyota Tacoma were nominated by Randy Lauer (@randylauer on Insta). Randy says,
"Dan embodies the adventure lifestyle. He's a true ground camping overlander who's always up for wherever the road takes us and wherever we lay our heads is camp for the night.
He's a gun toting, whiskey drinking, red blooded American veteran who has earned his stripes in more ways than one. He does everything for his friends and family and deserves a little recognition because he'll never, ever ask for it. Dan's the man!"
Dan's the man, indeed! And it's always great to see the Ford and Toyota crowds getting along. Though, I'm sure there's a little bit of good-natured competition every now and then... I'm also growing to be a proponent of ground tenting. There are some seriously cool new ground tents on the market today - they aren't your old-school canvas walled dinosaurs.
